Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Keln Inc. ("Keln," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the keln.ai website (the "Site") and the inference services we provide (together, the "Services").

Our inference workloads are currently offered through third-party aggregators such as OpenRouter. When you call a Keln-served model through an aggregator, the aggregator's privacy policy governs your relationship with them; this policy covers what Keln itself does with information.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Contact submissions. If you email us or fill in a contact form, we receive your name, email, message, and any other details you choose to share.
  • Business correspondence. Any information exchanged in the course of evaluating, onboarding, or supporting a business relationship.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device data. When you visit the Site we automatically receive your IP address, browser type, device type, referrer, pages viewed, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See Cookies & analytics below.

Inference request data

When we serve an inference request, we process the prompt and generation in memory to produce a response. We do not store prompts or completions beyond what is required to serve the request, and we do not use them to train models. We retain operational metadata (timestamps, token counts, latency, model, status) for billing, debugging, and capacity planning.

How we use information

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
  • Respond to questions, provide support, and communicate about changes to the Services.
  • Measure performance, detect abuse, and secure our infrastructure.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use prompts or completions to train models.

Sharing with third parties

We share information only with parties who help us run the Services, and only as needed:

  • Cloud and hosting providers that operate our infrastructure and website.
  • Analytics providers that help us understand how the Site is used.
  • Aggregators and marketplaces (such as OpenRouter) that route requests to Keln on your behalf.
  • Professional advisors (legal, accounting, auditors) bound by confidentiality.
  • Authorities when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Acquirers in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business.

Cookies & analytics

The Site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences (for example, light/dark theme), measure anonymous traffic, and keep the Site running. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may not work as expected if you do.

If we use third-party analytics (for example, Vercel Analytics or Plausible), they receive aggregate, non-identifying information about visits. They do not set advertising cookies on our behalf.

Data retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Operational metadata about inference requests is kept for a rolling window sufficient for billing and reliability, then deleted or aggregated.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port the personal information we hold about you, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at kris@keln.ai. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

California residents. You have the rights described in the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), including to request access to and deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" (we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA).

EEA, UK, and Switzerland residents. Where required, we rely on legitimate interests, contract performance, legal obligation, or consent as our legal basis for processing. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

International transfers

We are based in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. or other countries that may have different data protection rules than your own. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Site.
